William C. Moor's Obituary
DOVER – William Charles Moor, 89, of Dover, Delaware, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025. Born on January 30, 1936, to Charles and Catherine May Moor, Bill lived a life grounded in routine, responsibility, and simple joys. He was a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him; always ready to help, always content with the world he built around him.
A proud graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1954, Bill joined the Delaware National Guard shortly after graduation and served faithfully for over two decades, retiring in 1978 with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 2. He went on to spend 41 years working for Peninsula Acoustical Co. in Dover, where he was known for his reliability and willingness to lend a hand. He was someone who preferred action over words and earned respect for his practical, no fuss approach to work and life.
Outside of work, Bill enjoyed gardening, quiet time outdoors, and most of all, time spent at Pot Nets. He loved crabbing, fishing, swimming with his grandsons, Pot Nets was where life slowed down and the things that mattered most came into focus.
He was a Life Member of the Dover Elks Lodge 1903 and, in recent years, volunteered at the Wesley United Methodist Church Clothing Closet, offering his time in his signature quiet and helpful way.
Bill shared 59 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Margaret, who preceded him in death in 2018. Their life together was built on mutual respect, shared values, and unwavering commitment. He is survived by his son, Kevin Moor, and daughter-in-law Patricia; his grandsons, Christopher and Brendan; his sisters, Catherine Webb and Elizabeth “Betty” Luhrman; and his brother, Charles Moor along with many nieces and nephews.
