Terry Jelliffe's Obituary
Terry W. Jelliffe, 72, of Persimmon Park, Dover Delaware, passed Saturday December 31st, 2023 in his home.
Mr. Jelliffe was born in New Mexico June 15th, 1951 to Mayme and Henry Jelliffe. He grew up an army brat, taking him across the world. His family resided in Connecticut and Germany for his formative years, and eventually his family was stationed in Delaware, where he attended Caesar Rodney, graduating in 1969. Following in his father’s footsteps, he served his country from 1972-1974 having worldly adventures of his own.
After his service he returned to Dover, where he worked at James T. Vaughn as an officer in corrections, retiring in 2008 to become a full time Grandpa. He continued meeting his fellow retirees each month in a designated “liars club” to exchange tall tales of true events. Terry also volunteered as a man of great consequence from November to December, acting as Santa Claus for countless children and charities. He’s survived by his brother, Michael Jelliffe, his son Aaron Jelliffe, his daughter in law Melissa Smith Jelliffe, his daughter Carrie Dosio, his son in law Tom Dosio, and his plethora of grandchildren, Dominique Jelliffe, Abigail Smith, Cassidy Laramore, Victoria Bailey, Sarah Jelliffe, Steven Smith, Patrick Jelliffe, Marissa Dosio, and Addison Dosio. And his great-grandchildren, Chance Jelliffe, Hazel Bailey, and Theo Bailey. Services to honor this great man will be held at Traders Funeral Home 12 Lotus St, Dover, on Saturday the 13th at 12 pm friends and family may call from 10 am till time of the service. He will be buried that afternoon at Sharon Hill Memorial Park where he will join his mother, father, and brother.
