Pauline McPhee's Obituary
Pauline Rauscher McPhee passed away peacefully at Courtland Manor on Dec. 7, 2015. Born Jan. 15, 1930 in Milton, MA to Carl H. and Agnes A Nelson Rauscher, she was a graduate of Milton High School, Fisher Jr. College, and while working and raising 5 children, Delaware Technical and Community College. Devoted wife of George A. McPhee for 54 years until his death in 2006, they moved to Dover in 1963 with General Foods. Pauline worked for the State of Delaware, retiring from DNREC in 1989. She spent many years supporting her children's extracurricular activities. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, square dancing, camping with family, playing bingo, and her friendship and traveling all over the country with their Masonic family. Pauline also had a creative side, and was always in the middle of a project, be it painting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, or the next greatest craft. She leaves behind her sister, Priscilla Saucier, of Rockland, MA, 4 children, Stephen (Cheree) of Newark, DE Jeffrey (Paula) of Hampton, VA Sheryl (Mark) Smith of Gloucester, MA and Susan (David) Shelor of Magnolia, DE daughter in law Jen McPhee 11 grandchildren Megan Shannon, Stephanie Casula, Katherine Humble, Colleen Pinto, Britt McPhee, Casey and Ian McPhee, Kyle and Kara Smith, and Matthew and Diana Shelor, 4 great granddaughters and 2 great grandsons. She is preceded in death by her husband George, son Douglas, her identical twin sister Patricia, her parents, in laws, George O. and Ellen C. (Stewart) McPhee, and her beloved dog, Nellie who was such a comfort to her after Dad's passing. Until we meet again...We love you Mom. Viewing will be at Trader Funeral Home 12 Lotus Street Dover Friday Dec. 11 from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be at Christ Episcopal Church 523 S. State Street Dover Sat. Dec. 12 at 10 AM with burial immediately following in the church cemetery. A celebration of life will be held afterwards at the Masonic Lodge 1478 Wyoming Mill Road Dover.
