Mary Ann Pospichal's Obituary
Mary Ann Pospichal, (Cowgill) passed away on August 15, 2024, at the age of 84, in Dover, Delaware. Born on January 16, 1940, in Goldsboro, Maryland, she led a fulfilling life marked by her passion for music and community service. Mary Ann retired from Playtex with over 35 years of service and dedicated much of her time to various organizations, including the American Legion Post 2, United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Dover Elks Lodge 1903, The Moose Lodge in Camden Wyoming, and the Vintage Car Club of Delaware. She was also a member of Calvary Church in Dover. Her musical journey began at the age of 28, singing alongside her good friend Mel Price. Later, she and her husband Ron formed the band "Mary Ann and the Country Playboys," which brought joy to many. Mary Ann's love for singing was only paralleled by her joy in dancing, vacationing with family and friends, and watching her grandchildren & great-grandchildren grow. She is survived by her daughter Donna Conner, son Donald Pearson JR (Alice), siblings Betty Smith, Robert Cowgill (Tammy), and George Cowgill, grandchildren Lisa Conner (Matt), Katie McClements (Donnie), and Eric Pearson (Rebekah), along with six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Ronald Pospichal, her parents George and Elsie Cowgill, and her brother Charles Cowgill. Visitation and services will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Trader's Funeral Home, located at 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE. Visitation will be from 12-1 pm, followed by the service at 1 pm.
