Jeannie M. Blackiston, 78
Dover – Jeannie Blackiston passed away peacefully April 9, 2018 at Kent General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Blackiston, born in Milford on March 12, 1940, was the daughter of the late John and Florence Massey.
Jeannie attended Milford High School and was a member of the National Honor Society. She graduated third in her class and was voted most likely to succeed. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life for her family. She was always a gracious hostess and treated both family and friends with great love and care. She made even the difficult things seem easy. She was always ready with a kind word and a helping hand and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Jackie Massey, and a son, Paul B. Blackiston. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, John L. Blackiston, Jr. of Dover, daughter, Sheri (Mark) Cox, daughter-in-law Lorretta Blackiston, brother, Gil (Paula) Massey, sister-in-law, Ann Sanders, five grandchildren, Heath (Ashley) Bullock, Bryan (Audrey) Blackiston, Sean Bullock, Gillian Blackiston, Spencer Blackiston, lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins, and all of her “adopted” grandkids.
Arrangements by Trader’s Funeral Services and burial will be private.
