We are saddened to learn of the passing of our dear neighbor. Jeannie was such a wonderful person, always smiling with a friendly wave whenever we drove down the street. Our deepest sympathy to John and the family. Please take some comfort in knowing that today she is in a much nicer place with our dear Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Ray & Nida Provost
Mrs. Blackiston was the mom that all the kids congregated around. She was always full of laughter and love, and her house was a sunny, welcoming space. She was always making beautiful crafts and was so generous in sharing her talents with others, whether it was cooking, making candles, or painting. I remember one time she helped me make a beautiful pillar candle with flowers in it to give to my mom, and I was so excited and proud. I was always grateful to her for her willingness to help me make a candle for my mother. I admired the many folk craft items she painted. I loved playing over at her house and spent many hours under the trees in the Blackiston's front yard. She was a big part of my early childhood, a special lady, and I will always think of her with love.
