Jay Lee Schmukler's Obituary
Jay L Schmukler, 83, of Dover, DE passed after a short illness on October 1, 2018.
Jay was born October 20, 1934 to his Mother, Hilde Zimmerman of Brooklyn, NY. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force shortly after completion of High School. He retired after a 20-year career as a loadmaster on the C-133 and C-5. After retirement he owned his own liquor store in Dover and worked as a civilian at Dover AFB at the aerial port. In addition, he volunteered for a number of years at the Air Base Mobility Command Museum.
Jay is survived by his wife of 61 years, Laura Schmukler, daughter, Sandra Cahoon, daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Rick Donahue, granddaughter, Kathryn Kane and grandsons, Matthew and Richard Donahue. He is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Dalton Cahoon and grandson, Jason Greenholt.
Friends and family may call on Friday from 11am-1230pm at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St. Dover, DE 19901. Services will follow at the Veterans Cemetery in Millsboro, DE at 2pm.
