Over the last several years Jay and Laura became special friends in our lives. Jay would call me for a ride to medical appointments or to visit with Laura while he was away. We would share an evening just talking, go to dinner or Phil and I would bring in Chinese food to share a meal with them. During the past few weeks, I took Jay to several medical meetings. Jay joked about his new car had been driven more by me than him. He laughing begin to say, “our car”, when I took Laura to the hospital each day for a visit.

A tear in my eye this morning after reading Jay's obituary. A longtime friend through or C-133, C-5 and subsequent years, having just spoken to him two weeks ago. To Laura and family our deepest sympathy. A great guy!

Jay was a special person. Over the years Jay and Laura and Phil and I would share an evening together just enjoying each other’s company. We have gone out to dinner and Phil and I would sometimes bring Chinese food in to share with Jay and Laura. Over the last few months, Jay and I became “Buddies “ as I would transport him to various medical appointments. We always shared a running joke, that I had more time behind the wheel of Jay’s new car than he did. When Jay went into the hospital we started a running “tab” on expenses. Jay would ask if I needed cash for Laura and My response would always to I added it to the tab and Jay would smile.
Phil spent many hours during the last two weeks taking time to. Is it our friend, Jay reassuring him that we were taking care of Laura and making Jay smile. We will carry those memories with us as we say goodbye to our friend and “my buddy”.
