Harriet J Kemp's Obituary
Harriet Jean Short Kemp, 81, of Dayton, Virginia (formerly of Camden, Delaware), passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at her home.
She was born on May 22, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Charles N. Short. Sr. and Emilie (Pickering)Short.
Harriet had worked at Farmers Bank as a bank auditor. She was a member of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Camden, DE, but attended the Church of God her entire married life. She loved children, cats, flowers, Herr's Potato Chips and Pepsi.
Harriet was united in marriage to Rev. Milton B. Kemp, who preceded her in death on June 16, 2014.
She is survived her daughter, Rebecca K. "Becky" Fansler & husband Wilton, of Dayton, VA; her brother, Charles N. Short, Jr., of Camden, DE; her sister, Elizabeth Powell, of Camden, DE and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
A service celebrating Harriet's life will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Trader Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oddfellows Cemetery Camden, DE
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 2, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Trader funeral home.
