Harriet Jean Short Kemp, 81, of Dayton, Virginia (formerly of Camden, Delaware), passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 22, 1941 and was a daughter of the late Charles N. Short. Sr. and Emili Read Obituary
Mrs Kemp, as we called her, had a tremendous impact on all of children especially Gregory, our youngest. She cared for him from the time he was a couple months old until he went to first grade. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Harriet was truly one of the sweetest and kindest friends I have ever known. Her and my mom would talk for hours on the phone. I remember going on band trips with her and to her house when I was a kid. Whether I was 5 years old or 25 years old she would always pack a bag of cookies and chips for me. She definitely will never be forgotten. We love and miss you,Harriet.
Harriet and I were close friends at Caesar Rodney and continued to be through the years by mail. Becky, I am so sorry for your loss. May Harriet rest in heaven with the ones that gone on before.
