William Allen Mizell, 80
William Allen Mizell passed away peacefully on July 6, 2021 at his residence in Dover surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Dorothy M (nee Gartside), loving father of three sons, Gregory and his wife Donna of Mechanicsville, VA, David and his wife Monica of Collegeville, PA and Timothy of Wilmington, DE.
He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Shane of Wilmington DE, Jeanette of Ambler, PA, Georgianna of Collegeville PA and Melissa of New York, NY as well as nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his brother Robert of Leesburg FL and grandson Gregory Jr. of Mechanicsville, VA.
William was born on January 30,1941 in Chester PA to parents Dewey and Jeanette. William was a member of Ironworkers local 451 where he worked for more than 42 years.
William enjoyed many activities over the years including coastal fishing, trap shooting and long-distance rifle competition with the Bridgeville Long distance team. William travelled to compete at national events and held senior records with the NRA. William enjoyed camping throughout the eastern US with his wife and dogs. He was cheerleader for his sons at drag races at area tracks. William was a member of the Philadelphia Continental chapter, Sons of the American Revolution. His family and friends will always remember him as a great family man, a loving father and devoted husband.
A gathering of friends is scheduled for July 17 at the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Locust Street, Dover DE between 10am-12pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate William’s life.
