William H McKee III's Obituary
William H. McKee III , 84
On the evening of Monday, January 22, William H. McKee III heard the words spoken in his ear asking him to accept Jesus Christ as his savior. Within seconds he passed from this earth to be with the Lord. William was born January 29th, 1933 in Wilmington, Delaware.
The only child of William H. McKee II and Pauline Hamilton McKee. After graduation, from Dover High School, he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Thule, Greenland. Upon returning he met the love of his life, Nancy Jane Brown McKee whom he was married to for over 50 years. She proceeded him in death nearly four years ago.
William worked diligently for Acme Markets until his retirement. But his true passion in life was his dedication to his entire family whom were so fortunate to receive the love and guidance he endlessly offered.
He enjoyed many activities throughout his life but also treasured the priceless "quieter" things as well. Watching deer in the fields, full moons, sunsets, rainbows and meteor showers were some of his favorites. He was the first baseman for the very first Dover Little league team. He was a member of Dover and Bowers fire company in his younger years. He was an avid boater and fisherman his entire life. He loved watching the Philadelphia Phillies and NASCAR. He and his wife Nancy enjoyed the many friends they made at their summer home at Pickering's Beach.
William is survived by two daughters: Stacey Fitzwater and husband Paul of Dover, Paula Hooker of Dover. Five grandchildren: Shane Roy and his wife Novalee of Dover, Caitlin Hoyd and her husband Kyle of Harrington, Kayla McGinness and her husband Derek of Felton, Jessica Barnes and her husband Zach of Abilene, Texas and Elijah Hooker of Dover. Six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Briana, Lilly, Camden, Madalynn and Weston. His brother in law, Ronnie Brown of Goldsborough, MD was dear to his heart and like a son to him. He also had a lifelong friend that was very special to him, Dennis Williams of Dover. They shared a passion for the outdoors and hunting.
Remembrance service will be held January 27th, 2018 at 1:00pm at Traders Funeral Home in Dover. Friends may call one hour before. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park in Dover.
