I graduated from Dover High School in 1959. In the 7th grade I was in your father's Shop Class. I still have the Table Lamp we built in class. When I learned your father had flown P-38s during WWII, he became a instant hero to me. I worked for your dad at Dairy Queen when I was 16. I think I ate more than I sold.
In high school I was obsessed with going to the new Air Force Academy and flying Air Force fighters and flying fighters. Your dad encouraged me. I graduated from the Academy in 1964 but never flew because of color vision problems. My wife and I visited with your dad in Dover maybe four years ago. He was always interested in my Air Force career and talked about his own Army Air Force career. He mentioned he was on the way to the Pacific Theater to fly P-47s when the war ended. I sent him a couple of articles on the P-38s and P-47s over the years. To the end, he was one of my heroes.
Find comfort in the fact your Father was loved by all who knew him.
