Wallace L Price's Obituary
December 10, 2015 was a perfect fishing day. With his wife by his side, Wally departed this world and is surf fishing on the heavenly shores. We know he is truly in heaven because the fish are huge, always biting and there is no Obama.
On October 27, 1944, Wallace L. Price was born to the late John Price and Elsie Billman, who survives, with stepfather Charles Billman. Wally played football for CR high school, graduating in 1962. He was a meat cutter at Witt Bros. Market until joining the Delaware National Guard in 1963, where he reached the rank of CU2 and was Unit Administrator for the 261 Signal Command. Retiring from the National Guard in 1988, he then spent many years as the manager at the Dover Sunoco.
Wally recently was described as a “Gentle Giant.” Anyone who knew him would totally agree. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren and his “#1” great grandson with his whole heart and soul.
Wally is survived by his wife of 33 years, Dorothy “Kelly” Price, his “best friend” and very special girl Kally Lee Price, daughter Jennifer Ulrich and husband Eric, son Kevin Price and husband Ricky, stepson Charles “Chuck” Ware and “second daughter” Wendi Maldonado. Granddaughters Courtney Maldonado, Quinn Elaina Price, Ember Rayne Ulrich. Grandsons, McKenzie Thorpe Ware, Riley Ashton Maldonado and “#1” great grandson Justin Andrew Ames Jr. Five brothers, Matt, John, Bruce, Garry, Jeff. Three sisters, Diane, Debbie, Sheila. Also extended family - Oy Maldonado, Carol Moore, Faith and Aaron Cooke and soon to arrive William Harrison Cooke (Feb 2016).
“The family wishes to express heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Bayhealth-Kent General who took such special care of Wally and provided utmost support to me. Each of you were a true blessing in your own special way and will never be forgotten. The prayers, phone calls, cards, visits and support of many treasured friends has been a source of strength and comfort. May God bless each of you.” - DKP
