Dear Ms. Prettyman - I was very saddened to read of the recent passing of Fr. Peterman, whom it had been my pleasure to care for for many decades. He was a very unique person and I so enjoyed having an affiliation with him. At the brief meetings that we would have on a regular basis to follow his eye care, we would talk about sundry topics of interest to him, most of which were history. He was a true scholar and worked right up until the end of his life in research and writing. It was very inspiring to know him. I am sure that he touched many in his long and prestigious career and will be missed dearly by you and your family. I hope that your wonderful memories will help you through this difficult time.

Since I followed him to St. M Magdalen was happy that the parish installed a pipe organ during my stay at St. M Magdalen. HIs love of music, bells, etc were duly noted. Fr. Tom and I shared dinner and music on occasions. He was proud of his accomplishments over the years. Thanks to all who cared for him in times of poor health. He lead the singing for many events over the years so I hope all make a joyful sound to the Lord at the funeral. RIP

We are saddened at the loss of Fr. Peterman, loosing not just a parish priest but a good friend. In the 12 years he was in Galena and the prior 12 in Chestertown, Fr. Peterman ministered to the families of Kent, Queen Anne’s and Cecil Counties kindly, gently and without hesitation. As a funeral director I could call upon him to to every family of any faith to provide comfort to them. We also fondly remember his four legged companions, Goldey, Lady and Junior and his sense of humor. God Bless You Sir, as your ministry lives on. With the utmost respect.
