Shirley Lillian Hunn's Obituary
Shirley Lillian Hunn, 96, Greensboro, Maryland passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Talbot Hospice Center in Easton, Maryland.
She was born on February 1, 1920 in Bronx, New York to the late Elwood J. and Lillian Anderson Johnson. She graduated from John Adams High School in 1938 and attended Drakes Business School in preparation for later secretarial positions at Commercial Investment and Trust on Park Avenue in New York City, Royal Typewriter Company, Kellett Aircraft, Wildcat Landfill Co., Burger Construction, and the American Red Cross. On February 18, 1942, she married Alan Hunn of Morton, Pa. He predeceased her in death on May 27, 1986.
Shirley was very active in the Kent County Theater Guild (founded by her husband), the Walter L. Fox Post #5 Auxiliary, and the American Red Cross Disaster Team. She loved cooking and spending time with family and friends. She was a special lady to everyone that knew her.
Shirley is survived by her three children, Laurence Hunn of Dunwoody, GA, Alana Dale Turner of Greensboro, MD, and Douglas Alan Hunn of Dallas, GA. five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Service will be held on Thursday, Mary 31, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the Trader Funeral Home Inc. 12 Lotus St., Dover, Delaware. Friends may call form 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden, Delaware.
