Shirley Gauani's Obituary
Shirley L. (Talbert) Gauani, 81, of Townsend, Delaware, passed away peacefully in the presence of close family members at Lifecare Hospital of Chester County in West Chester, PA on April 22, 2017.
Shirley was born February 15, 1936 in Bristol, Virginia to the late Andrew and Francis Talbert. Her family later relocated to the Baltimore, Maryland area. While working as an office assistant and taking classes, Shirley met and later married her husband, the late Aeneas C. Gauani. She chose to pursue a life with her husband and raise a family together. After traveling the world as a military wife (U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force) which brought her family to Dover, Delaware in 1976. Shirley flourished as a wife, homemaker and supportive mother to four children. Her life was dedicated to the happiness, health and success of her family. She will always be remembered by her friends and family as a sweet, kind and generous lady who was always willing to listen and share in any way possible. Shirley’s favorite part of life was her family, and she was never left without them. Her warm hugs, kind words and gentle smile will be forever missed. For those who knew her, it was a privilege and delight.
Shirley is preceded in death by her spouse, Aeneas C. Gauani in 2010, daughter, Francine T. Gauani in 1987, and brothers, John Talbert and Donald Talbert.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Patricia T. Gauani (Brian McNemar) of Townsend, DE, and sons, Mattheus T. Gauani of Hyattsville, MD, and, Arthur T. (Janey) Gauani of Dover, DE, sister, Barbara J. Machitar of San Diega, CA, brother, Douglas V. Talbert of Pittsfield, MA, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, Delaware on April 27, 2017 from 11:30 to 1:00. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery Camden, DE
