Sheila Silveus' Obituary
Sheila Andrea Silveus, age 76, passed away at her home on January 9th, 2024. Sheila was born December 7th, 1947 to the late Albert and Anastasia Shonk of Pekin, IL. She grew up and attended school in Pekin. Sheila married her late husband, Paul on September 12th, 1970, and she traveled with him through his adventures in the Air Force. Finaly settling down and having a family at Travis Air Force Base, California where they had their son, Cory, in 1982. A few years after Paul’s retirement from the Air Force, they moved to Dover, Delaware where she worked for and made plenty of friends within the Delaware Department of Insurance until retiring in May 2009 to spend well deserved time with her family due to the birth of their first grandchild. Once she retired, Sheila enjoyed a stiff Irish Coffee on a cold night and the snuggles of her grandchildren. Sheila loved spending time with her husband at their home with their dogs over the years. Sheila is survived by her son Cory and daughter in law Amanda, and her three grandchildren, Luke, Rosalee, and Rhys Silveus, along with many cousins and two nieces. The family would also like to thank Nikki Capers for her dedicated care of Sheila. In lieu of sending flowers, please send donations to a non-profit animal shelter or veterans outreach organization. Friends and family are welcome to visit from 11am to 12pm at Trader’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 17th. Immediately following will be services at 2pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, located at 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
