Sandra Sandy Hope Morris' Obituary
Sandra “Sandy” Hope Morris passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Bayhealth Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was born on June 9th, 1948 in Dover, DE to the late John Bodine, Sr. and late Catherine Allen.
Sandy was a lifetime resident of Delaware and made her home in Hartly in 1970 when she married the love of her life, Raymond “Henry” Morris. Sandy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also a great friend to many. Sandy worked as a nurses assistant at Courtland Manor and was an original bus driver for Polytech High School. She worked for the Fox’s Bus Service for 35 years. Sandy saw them more as friends then bosses. Sandy was a proud life member of the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company where she enjoyed working functions. Sandy was an avid Nascar Fan, she was very independent and liked to travel with her friends, hanging out at campgrounds, and shopping with her best friends Ginny and Connie.
Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, her sons Clinton “Cubby” Morris, Ronald “Ronnie” Seaman, her daughter Terry Lynn Morris, Grandson Ronald Legar, brothers Steve Bodine, Jackie Bodine, Larry Bodine, sister Roxanne Melvin, and her dog Laci.
Sandy is survived by her sons Raymond “Ray” Morris (Candy), Raymond “Pete” Morris Jr. (Suzanne), eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, brothers Kenneth Bodine, Gary Bodine, sister Delores Dill, sister-in-law’s Linda Morris and Joan Borel. She is also survived by her faithful companions Sadie and Momo kitty.
Visitation will be held from 11AM – 1PM with service at 1PM on Saturday, May 6th, at the Hartly Volunteer Fire Company, 2898 Arthursville Rd, Hartly. Internment will follow at Mt. Olive cemetery, Sandtown. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in her memory to Team Autism, P. O. Box 256, Church Hill, MD 21623.
