Robert Bobby Thompson's Obituary
Robert, also known as Bob or Bobby Thompson, passed away Friday, July 28th, 2023, at the age of 69 at
Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford, DE.
Bobby was born at Milford Hospital to the late Marvin H Thompson (2004) and Doris M Yerkie Thompson (2017). He is the oldest of Marvin and Doris’s three sons.
Bobby graduated from Caesar Rodney High School and started working in the family farming business. Later, he pursued his interest in mechanics and worked as a mechanic for Pep Boy for thirty years before retiring.
Bobby enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, jeep racing, and gardening. In recent years his health interfered with his ability to pursue his interests. Nonetheless, in his day, Bobby grew magnificent gardens and shared the fruits of his labor with many. Following the death of his mother, Bobby often hosted Sunday morning breakfasts with all of the “fixins” for his brothers and extended family. In particular, Bobby shared a unique bond with his nephew, Kyle. Above all, Bobby was gentle and kind, and he loved his family. He was often the family peacemaker. Undeniably, his calm presence and forgiving nature will be missed.
Bobby was a Lifetime Member of the Magnolia Fire Company, and he was also once a member of the Delaware Four Wheelers.
Bobby is survived by two brothers Ronald L and Rick M Thompson and his three nephews Lee M, Chase J
and Kyle M Thompson.
Services will be held Monday, August the 7th, The viewing starts at 10:00 AM followed by the Services at 11:00 AM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover DE. Robert will be buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden.
