Robert E. Mahaffey, Jr., 52, Hartly, passed away Sunday May 8, 2016 after a long battle with cancer at Delaware Hospice Center Milford.
He was born on February 06, 1964 in Dover, DE to Robert E. Mahaffey, Sr. of Dover and Joan Leslie Nickerson of Hartly. He is also survived by Step mother Doris Mahaffey of Dover, Step father Bill Nickerson of Hartly. Sister Ruth Washburn and her husband Dan of Hartly, Step brother William Nickerson, Jr. and wife Michelle of Hartly., Several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Robert graduated from Dover High School in 1982. He then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Delaware State College in 1987, earning two Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and History. He worked at McDonald's in New Castle as Manager and operation's trainer until he became disabled. He lover to read and teach history at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover as a volunteer.
Services will be held 05/12/2016 1 PM at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE. Burial will be at the Sharon Hill Memorial Park Dover, DE
