Bob Bogari, 80, of Magnolia, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2023, surrounded by his family after a brief hospitalization.
Born on November 27, 1942, in Easton, PA to Frank and Marie (Keystus) Bogari. He was the youngest of their four children. Bob was predeceased by his parents, and the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Julia (Malia) Bogari and granddaughter Ashley Bukeavich. He is survived by his three children, Kevin, husband of Donna, Lancaster, PA, Jeffrey, Foster City, CA, and Beth (Bogari) Glenn wife of Sheridon, Greater London, UK, and three grandchildren Justin Bukeavich of Lancaster, PA, and Wyatt and Lorelei Glenn of Greater London, UK, as well as siblings Blanche (Bogari) Vargo of Easton, PA, Betty (Bogari) Ver of Lawrenceville, NJ, Bill Bogari Sr. of West Easton, PA and cousins, many nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.
Bob was known by all for his kindness and sense of humor that typically infused gatherings of family or friends. His senses of humor and levity were passed down to his children who also use it as a coping mechanism - so don’t be put off if you see them laughing throughout their grieving.
Bob’s hobbies included model railroading, having built several large HO-scale layouts and he was a total “car guy,” regularly attending car cruises in his babied 45th Anniversary convertible 2012 Camaro. He also enjoyed 50’s and 60’s rock-n-roll and classic cars including a 1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass F85 convertible that he restored himself and which won awards at several classic car shows. Automotive or not, there was almost nothing that he could not fix. He regularly spent Christmases with his daughter and her family in London, boating on the Chesapeake Bay with his son and daughter-in-law and sightseeing with his son in California. He also frequently traveled on vintage railroad outings in Pennsylvania that used restored steam locomotives and passenger cars.
He was employed by IBM as a field technician and a service manager for 30 years, retiring in 1996.
A viewing will be held at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St, Dover, DE 19901 on Wednesday evening from 5p-7p on August 23rd and Thursday morning from 9a-10a August 24th followed at 11a by Funeral Mass at St. Bernadette Catholic Church at 109 Dixon Street Harrington, DE 19952.
