Patricia Ann Watson's Obituary
Patricia Ann Watson, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Dover Place assisted living facility. Patricia was born on November 8, 1932, in Buffalo, NY, the youngest daughter of the late Henry and Theresa Schmitt. After graduating high school, Patricia worked as a secretary at a lumber supply company.
Patricia married the love of her life, Gerald Edwin Watson (a Korean War Veteran) on August 1, 1953. They were married 50 years until his passing in 2003. They led a wonderful life together, enjoying Friday Fish Frys and canal boat rides in Western New York and Ontario. Patricia loved spending time with her extended family visiting local attractions and annually vacationing at a remote cottage on a picturesque lake in Ontario.
She was an avid nature enthusiast, who especially enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable garden. Patricia belonged to the Clarence Center, NY Garden Club and worked part time at the local garden and gift shop next door to her home. At Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Clarence, NY she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
In 1998, Patricia and Gerald moved to Magnolia, DE to be closer to their son. She joined the Church of the Holy Cross Parish of Dover, DE where Paricia belonged to the Young at Heart group, was active on the Linen Committee, a member of the Rosary Society and was a dedicated Eucharistic Minister.
Patricia was proceeded in death by her loving husband Gerald, her brothers Henry and Donald Schmitt, sisters Beatrice West, brother-in-law John West, brother-in-law Raymond Watson and sister-in-law Edna Watson.
She is survived by her son Richard Watson (Monica) of Middletown, DE and daughter Laurie Feldmeyer (Daniel) of Clermont, FL Patricia had one grandchild, Ember Watson. She had many nieces and nephews.
Patricia will be deeply missed.
The visitation will take place on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 11 AM until 12:30 PM at Trader Funeral Home, Inc. 12 Lotus Street Dover. A funeral Mass will follow at the Church of Holy Cross, 631 South State Street Dover at 1 PM. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery located on North New Street Dover alongside her beloved Gerald.
In lieu of flowers to honor Particia's lifelong love of cats, donations may be made to the First State Animal Center and SPCA 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934 or on the website at www.fsac-spca.org.
