Patricia Joan Smith's Obituary
Patricia Joan Smith, 89, passed away January 19, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Parkersburg, WV on July 22, 1931 to the late Clyde and Gussie Devoll. She attended Parkersburg High School and graduated from Camden Clark Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She married her husband Bill in May of 1952 and they had two children. Joan and Bill were stationed to six different bases during their marriage and retired in Dover where she worked as an OR nurse at Kent General Hospital for 30 years. After retirement she worked part time at Kent General Hospital as an RN first assistant. She also worked part time for 25 years with Dr. Tooze in his office. Joan and her husband were avid golfers and she made many friends in the golfing community. They vacationed at various places where they were able to golf. Joan is survived by husband of 68 years, William H. Smith, her son Tim Smith and his wife Karen, her daughter Dee Dixon and her husband Ronnie, four grandchildren, Derek Moore, Alexa Smith ( Kevin, Courtney Hacker (Kyle), Chase Smith, and two great-grandchildren, Quinn Hacker and Ryker McConnell.
