Pamela Louise Henderson's Obituary
Pamela Louise Henderson, 67
Pam passed away suddenly on Saturday March 9, 2024 at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, DE after going into cardiac arrest.
She was born in Pulaski, VA on July 29, 1956 and is preceded in death by her parents Robert “Bobby” Hugh Kunsman and Peggy Jean (Burnette) Kunsman. She grew up as an Army brat living in Germany, Alaska and Maryland. She would learn to speak fluent German including the “bad” words just to be a little mischievous. As an adult she returned to Germany where she would give birth to her 2 sons (Josh & Daryl) and later moving to Georgia where she would give birth to her daughter (Sharon). She then moved back to Maryland where she went to beauty school and obtained a cosmetology license to become a hair stylist. Ultimately, she ended up in Delaware where she would spend most of her adult life. She worked for over 25 years in the beauty business and retired from JC Penney Salon.
Once her children were grown Pam attended James H Groves Adult High School and graduated as valedictorian in 1995. She continued her education at Wesley College where she earned an Associate Degree in Science in 2006. She then worked as a drug and alcohol counselor for inmates preparing to be released from prison. She was not known for holding back her opinion but rather telling it like it is. She always stood up for what she believed to be the right thing. She had a big heart and enjoyed helping people better themselves.
She was a creative person who enjoyed music, crocheting, painting, singing and reading. Pam would jokingly torture her children on long car rides (usually when they were misbehaving) by singing ‘O Sole Mio very loudly and off key. She also enjoyed the beach, the pool and sunny weather. She loved it so much she moved to Delray Beach in Florida for a few years. She considered the beach to be her “happy place”.
More than anything else Pam loved her family. She is survived by her 2 sisters Robin Jean Skoczylas and Molly “Joann” Dry (William Dry), 3 children Joshua David (Phillips) Redlus (Eliza Redlus), Daryl Wayne Henderson (Stephanie Henderson), Sharon Renee (Henderson) Olsen (Raymond Olsen), her grandchildren Kaden Jack Redlus, Cooper Daniel Redlus, Brittany Nicole Henderson, Daryl Ryan Henderson Jr, and Ethan Ace Kochis, her nieces Peggy Noel Dry and Jessie Elizabeth Dry and great nieces London Noel Dry-Beck, Daila Louise Dry and her former husband Steven Clyde Henderson.
Show your love and support for Pam by paying your last respects as we hold a viewing located at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE on Saturday March 16, 2024 at noon with a service at 1 pm.
