I am so sorry to hear about Melissa. We Re-connected last year while my oldest daughter was in the hospital. Melissa was her nurse, and I was so shocked to see her again as it has been years since we spoke. She was so surprised to see that it was me her neighbor and childhood friend that grew up together on base housing. She told me about her diagnosis and I couldn't believe how strong she was while talking about it. We talked about her parents, sisters, and husband and kids, and she showed me pictures of her family and the love she had for her family was so amazing. She still had an amazing smile despite the fight she knew she had to beat. I know she will be missed by so many and I am thankful I had the chance to rekindle memories with a childhood friend.
