Mary C Schriber's Obituary
Kenton, Delaware Mary (Hrycushko) Schriber passed peacefully at home Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Her daughters Melissa Schriber and Jennifer (Schriber) Roushey along with her husband of 52 years, Rick Schriber were with her at the time of her passing along with her nephew Bryan Boulden, who she thought of more as a son, arriving shortly thereafter.
Born 23 December 1950 to the late John and Stephanie (Petrycky) Hrycushko, Mary graduated from DeLaWarr High School in 1968 before marrying her high school sweetheart with which she would spend the next 52 years.
She was a tremendous wife, mom, and most importantly Grammy to her two grandsons, Maxwell and Joseph, the sons of -Jennifer and her much love son-in-law Jeffrey Roushey. Mary was never one to rest on her laurels. Active for many years in many areas of the banking industry including as an Asst. V.P. for the old Delaware Trust Company, she was also a Real Estate Agent, and in her later years, although still engaged in banking, ran a horse Boarding Facility on the families 220 acre farm outside of Kenton, DE.
Her huge heart and love of all animals ultimately brought a rescue dog named Jazzy, a Great Pyrenees mix into her life who would be her constant companion and comfort during her final year while battling her cancer.
In addition to those above, Mary is survived by 3 brothers, Bohdan, Roman and Andrew Hrycushko, her sister Irene Hrycushko, 4 nieces, 5 nephews, and all their loving spouses and family members that gave her such a huge sense of pride to have gathered around her.
Services and internment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers donations to Jazzy’s rescue organization, the House of Hope Animal Rescue Inc. P.O. Box 430, North East, Md., 21901 would surely have brought a smile to Mary’s face.
