Mary Roe Reed's Obituary
Mary Roe Reed, 96, died peacefully on Feb. 22, surrounded by family.
Mary, a native Delawaren, was born May 11, 1920, the daughter of the late Bedford and Katharine Conwell Roe. She graduated from Dover High School in 1937 and from Pierce College, Philadelphia, PA in 1939.
Mary was employed as Secretary to the President of First National Bank of Dover and later returning to work as Secretary to the Vice President of Academic Affaires at Wesley College and retired in 1984.
Mary was a member of Peoples Church, former member of Dover Century Club and Maple Dale Country Club. Mary was also a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 962. During World War II she had been active in the USO., American Red Cross Gray Ladies and many civilian activities.
The past 24 years Mary lived at Westminster Village where she served on numerous resident comittees.
She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Mary is survived by her son, David B. Reed and wife Michelle A. Reed, Rehoboth Beach, granddaughters Melissa Dana Reed, San Antonio, TX, Abidail Rebecca Reed and Emily Louise Reed, Rehoboth Beach. Mary is prceded in death by her husband Cauffiel Reed in 1999, her son Dana Reed in 1985 and her only sister Ethel Smith in 2002.
