Margaret Mildred Peggy Messick Burke's Obituary
Margaret Mildred Messick Burke "Peggy" 84 passed away peacefully at her home in Arbor Acres Winston-Salem NC on the morning of July 25, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Victoria Messick; brother Jack; husband Amos and her great grandson Cade. She is survived by her son Mike (Becky) Burke; daughter Pat (Mike) Stone; grandchildren Eric and David (Jen) Stone; Ian, Devlin, Patrick and Amanda Burke; and her three great-grandchildren, Avery, Colin, and Melanie Stone. Living most of her life in Dover, DE, she and Amos moved to Winston-Salem in 1993. Peggy served in the US Air Force in the 1950's. While primarily a homemaker she also worked as a telephone operator and medical receptionist in Dover, and served as a volunteer at Dover's Kent General Hospital. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Dover and joined Kingswood United Methodist Church when she moved to NC. There was a celebration of her life Wednesday, July 29 at Kingswood United Methodist Church in Rural Hall, NC with Sid Lanier officiating. There will be a service at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE Monday Aug. 3, 12 PM and friend may call one hour before, interment will follow the service at Sharon Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the general fund at Kingswood United Methodist Church, 6840 University Parkway, Rural Hall, NC 27045.
