Laura Lee Schmukler (O’Rear) age 90 of Dover, DE passed away Sunday March 7th, 2021. Laura was born November 29th, 1930 in Idabel, OK as the 11th of 12 children of (Ida and James O’Rear) (deceased). She graduated from High School in Idabel and taught at Cesar Rodney School District (Arnold Elementary) for 36 years. She was also a member of OES and enjoying traveling with her late husband.Laura was married to Jay Schmukler (deceased) for 61 years. Together they had 2 daughters, Sandra Cahoon (Schmukler) (Dalton Cahoon) and Anne Donahue (Rick Donahue). Grandparent of Jason Greenholt (deceased), Kathryn Kane (Greenholt) (Erin Kane), Richard Donahue (Rebecca Donahue) and Matt Donahue (Julie Donahue). Great- Grandmother of Landen Donahue, Hayley Donahue, Georgia Donahue and Summer Donahue. She is predeceased by her sisters Pauline O’Rear, Berline Bunn (O’Rear), Cecile Ferguson (O’Rear), Lavern O’Rear, and Imogene O’Rear, brothers James O’Rear, Earl O’Rear, Paul O’Rear, Llyod O’Rear, William O’Rear, and Basil O’Rear.Family and friends are invited to attend visitation services Thursday March 11th, 2021 from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at Trader’s Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St, Dover DE 19901. Burial will be held Friday March 12th at 10 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. In leu of flowers please make a memorial contribution to The Alzheimer’s Association. In consideration of protecting the family and friends health, public health guidelines enacted for the prevention of the spread of covid-19 virus, limitations on gatherings, physical distancing, use of hand sanitation and masks are in place.
