Larry L. Messick, 69
Dover- Larry Messick passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, with his wife Brenda by his side at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.
Larry was born December 28, 1946 in Dover, Delaware to the late Fredrick and Lena Messick.
In his early years, Larry served in the Army and was stationed in Germany. After returning home from his call of duty, Larry began his career and retired from Dow Reichhold Chemical as a Senior Operator after 41 1/2 years.
Larry enjoyed spending time by the ocean, watching NHRA drag racing, a love for classic cars and traveling the country by RV with his wife. Larry also took meticulous pride in maintaining his beautiful yard.
Larry was the most kind, caring, generous man with the biggest heart. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Larry is survived by his loving wife Brenda, one sister, Phylis Thomas of Connecticut, two brothers, Gene and his wife Kenzel, Robert and his fiancée Debra, and a host of nieces and nephews. Larry is also survived by his wife's sons Troy Lowman of Ellicott City, Md. and Curt Lowman of Dover, De. along with six grandchildren Madison, Jordan, Sarah, Nick, Brady and Chase Lowman who adored him, and referred to him as "Popsie".
Larry was also survived by his three sons, Michael Messick Sr. and his wife Ruthann of Dover, Jon Messick and his wife Amber of Suwanee, Georgia, and Chris Messick and his wife Amy of Dover along with seven grandchildren and one great-grand child.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m at Trader Funeral Home in Dover, DE
