Larry Loughney's Obituary
Larry Loughney, 86, of Dover, Delaware passed away on February 8, with his loving wife, Linda by his side.
Larry was born in County Mayo Ireland to Mary and Joseph and was one of 14 children. He immigrated to the United States in 1966 and was employed by Town and Country Resorts as Manager of maintenance.
Larry loved attending Maranatha Fellowship Church with his wife Linda, his Irish music, talking to his brothers and sisters across "the pond", his dogs, gardening and most of all playing golf with his buddies.
Larry was married to the love of his life, Linda, on March 4, 1995. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters. Susan O'Connell and Laureen Loughney, son, Joseph Loughney, his grandchildren, Christopher Monroe and wife Erin, Kayla O'Connell, Madison Chavez, Isabella Loughney, Jayden Loughney and great grandson, Saeziah Ortiz. His siblings, Marie McNeice, John Loughney, Peter Loughney, Teresa Foody and husband Pat, Mona Koch and husband Ramazan, Joseph Loughney, Michael Loughney and wife Mary, Bertha Hewison and husband Guy, Stephen Loughney and fiancé Maria and sister in law, Pat Loughney. He also has 3 stepchildren, Christine McDowell and husband Larry, Robert Cappella and his partner Lisa, and Louis Cappella and wife, Jessica. He also is survived by his step grandchildren, Robert Cappella, Evan and Jessica McDowell, Giovanni and Alessandro Cappella, and Makayla Cappella.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and Joseph, his sister Kathleen O"Boyle, his brothers William and Denis Loughney, his son-in-law, Michael Monroe and his son, Lawrence Loughney.
Larry will be deeply missed by his loving family and wonderful friends.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at Maranatha Fellowship, 60 Deer Track Lane, Dover, Delaware on Saturday, March 2 at 12:00 pm.
