Larry Dawson Hollinger's Obituary
Larry D. Hollinger of Magnolia, passed away peacefully and surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 24, 2020, after fighting a heroic battle with cancer. Larry was greatly loved by all, the life of the party and knew no strangers, only friends he had yet to meet. He will be greatly missed by all whose life he touched. In his spare time he enjoyed attending the blues jam on Thursday nights, as well as playing the slots, hunting, fishing and playing his guitar. Larry was a member of the Sons of the Legion, Walter Fox Post 2, where he held various positions over the years, as well as Kent County Commander. He was also a lifetime member of Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. He was passionate in his lifetime about giving back with community service. Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Hollinger; grandmother, Marguerite Hollinger and grandfather Britten Hollinger, Grandfather Joseph Procko and grandmother Sophia Procko
He is survived by his children April L. Prebula and husband Chris of Camden and Larry D. Hollinger II of Magnolia, his father Dawson B. Hollinger of Magnolia, four grandchildren, Collin, Dorian, Delaney and Christopher, his sisters Kay LePage and her husband Roger of Massachusetts and Ruthann Nickle of Magnolia; as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may pay their respect at Traders Funeral Home in Dover on Thursday, 12/31, viewing will be 11 am to 1 pm and the funeral at 1 pm. Burial will at Barrett’s Chapel. In consideration of protecting the family and friends health, public health guidelines enacted for the prevention of the spread of covid-19 virus, limitations on gatherings, physical distancing, use of hand sanitation and masks are in place.
