Kenneth Carroll Childers' Obituary
Kenneth C Childers of Frederica DE passed away August 29, 2024, at the age of 83 at Bayhealth Medical Center Dover DE surrounded by his loving family. Ken passed away from complications of a recent illness.
Ken was the son of the late, Carroll C. and Virginia Childers of Lynchburg VA.
Ken was retired from the United States Air Force after 28 years' service as a MSGT. He was a Fight engineer of the C5. Ken was still working full time as a HVAC salesman for R.E. Michel Company serving with them for 35 years.
Ken enjoyed having a boat even though he didn't take it out much. He enjoyed spending time with his daughters and his grandchildren, loved to go out to eat, and watching Westerns and Young Sheldon. Ken was the proudest of his Granddaughter Amber Mabrey for joining the United Stated Navy; he loved telling everyone of her accomplishments. Ken was the biggest supporter of all his girls. Ken's true pleasure was his cat Maxwell, he was his pride and joy, and Max will miss his daddy every day.
Ken was a member of the VFW, The American Legion Post 2 for 61 years. Ken had just joined the Felton Fire Company Auxiliary; he enjoyed helping in the dining room pouring coffee and water for the dinners being served.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his Brother Barry Childers.
Ken is survived by his daughters Kenda Galipo (Mark) of Harrington, DE and Gayle Malloy (James) of Magnolia DE. His grandchildren, Amber Mabrey of Mississippi, Brooke Mabrey of Smyrna, DE, Madelyn Galipo of Harrington DE, Autumn Galipo of Dover, DE and his Great Grandson Daniel Cortes of Smyrna DE.

A funeral service will be held at Trader Funeral Home located at 12 Lotus St Dover, DE 19904 on Thursday September 5, 2024, at 12 noon. Friends and Family can visit between 10 am and 12 noon. Interment will be Friday September 6, 2024, at the Veterans Cemetary in Millsboro DE at 11 am.
