Kathryn M Parry's Obituary
Kathryn May Parry, 79, of Milford, DE was born March 8, 1940, in Shamokin, PA, and died on Sunday, June 9, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Kay was a devoted, Christian woman who was active in her church for many years. Through the years she taught Sunday school, led the teen group with her husband, and was Missions president. She was always available when other things were needed at the church: preparing food, cleaning, or hosting people in her home. She took others into her home when they needed a place to live. Kay was a loving and devoted wife, a supportive and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and one of the best friends a person could have.
Kay is survived by her daughter, Kay Lynn Bright and husband Billy of Magnolia, DE; son, John Parry of Ocean City, MD; daughter-in-law, Donna Parry of Dover, DE; and son, Jamie Parry and his wife Amber of Mt. Vernon, OH; grandchildren, Rachael & husband Joey, Seth & wife Kaitlynn, Julianna, Ella, Ashlyn, Coady & wife Erica, and great-grandchildren, Carson, Paul, Addison, Ethan, Annagail, Sophi, Kyrstin, Keegan and one on the way. Kay is also survived by her sister, Dorothy Chernago and husband Michael.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents Samuel S. Walters and Marion I. Walters, her husband, Carl W. Parry Sr., her son, Carl W. Parry Jr., her son-in-law, Timothy P. Pettit and her granddaughter, Amanda Parry.
A memorial service will be held on July 20, at 10:00 am, at The Cross Church of the Nazarene. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, Newport, DE.
