Julia Malia Bogari's Obituary
MAGNOLIA, DE - Julia Malia Bogari passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at home at the age of 70.
Julie was born the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Gray Malia on December 11, 1945, in Sharon, PA. She graduated from Notre Dame High School, Easton, PA and worked as a Sales Auditor at Bon Ton for 20 years.
She will be deeply missed and is survived by her husband, Robert with whom she celebrated their 50th anniversary on Oct. 8, 2016 and their children Kevin, husband of Donna, Lancaster, PA, Jeffrey, Foster City, CA, and Beth, wife of Sheridon Glenn, Hampton, England, as well as grandchildren Justin and Ashley Bukeavich of Lancaster, and Wyatt and Lorelei Glenn of Hampton.
Julie is also survived by seven brothers and sisters, Helen Edwards of Allentown, PA, Michael, husband of Judy, Washington, N.J., Mary Beegle wife of Richard, Bethelem, PA, Elizabeth Poff, Allentown, PA, Joseph, husband of Sharon, Allentown, PA, Katherine, Allentown, PA, and Alice, wife of Edward Koskey Jr., Narareth, PA, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, home decorating, cooking and baking, volunteering at the Lake Forrest Church Association Food Pantry as well as supporting new mothers.
She also endured endless ribbing, mockery, and derision which was in no way deserved. Robert, her husband, adhered to a strict policy of testing limits and reinforced the strategy by raising three children who did likewise. Very little was out of bounds. The woman was a saint to live with this treatment voluntarily. A saint.
Whether it was her tireless cooking efforts, their timeliness or her unfailing memory for extensive detail of family events past, nothing went unchecked. The immediate family were not the only ones to chime in. Extended family, close friends and at one point even the paper delivery boy dropped a zinger or two. Jule took it all in stride and often threatened retribution.
But that reprisal never really arrived. Unless the incident prompting this writing is the culmination of a lifetime of sparring and is now the most fitting, elaborate and deserved payback in human history. OK, Jule. You got us. We bought it. You can call it off now. Come on out.
The viewing will be held on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, from 6 PM to 8 PM at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, DE. A Mass of Funeral Burial will be held on Monday, Oct, 24th at 11AM at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 109 Dixon St., Harrington, DE. A private burial will be held at a later date. If desired, in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Julie's name to the Transplant Foundation (Gift of Life Donor Program) at www.donors1.org/give. The family would like to thank Magnolia EMS, Kent County ALS, Delaware State Police and Kent General Hospital Emergency Department. Letters of condolences may be sent to www.traderfh.com
