Joshua Lewis Forwood's Obituary
Joshua “Josh” Lewis Forwood, 50, of Camden, Wyoming, Delaware, passed away on February 8, 2026. Born on February 4, 1976, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, Josh lived a life defined by quiet generosity and unwavering compassion. Throughout his life, Josh worked in a variety of roles that reflected his strong work ethic and adaptability. He held positions at Sam’s Club and Metal Masters, among others, always bringing dedication and a willingness to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Josh was known for his deep commitment to helping others. He was the kind of person who gave without hesitation, offering comfort, support, or care even when it came at personal cost. His kindness wasn’t loud or attention-seeking; it showed itself in small acts of service, late-night phone calls, and selfless decisions that often went unnoticed but never unappreciated. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched through these quiet gestures of love and support. He was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary (DAVA) and regularly attended events supporting causes close to his heart. Whether showing up for June Jam or Heroes for Hooters, Josh believed in standing up for others and giving back to his community. Josh is survived by his loving wife, Sarah “Shelly” Kashner; his devoted mother, Elaine Sheldon; and his cherished children: Olivia Dittmar (Eric), Mason Kashner-Forwood, and Adam Kashner-Forwood. He also leaves behind his sisters: Jill Hurt; Jennifer Taggart (Charles); and Joyce Forwood. Josh’s extended family includes many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him with affection. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Forwood; his uncle, Russ Forwood; and his grandparents, all of whom helped shape the man he became. Though Josh’s time with us ended too soon, the impact of his life remains immeasurable. His memory will continue to inspire those who knew him to act with compassion and courage. May his memory bring comfort to all who loved him.
