Joseph Urash's Obituary
Joseph Urash was born on November 4, 1931, in Dover, DE and died peacefully on January 20, 2026. He was the son of Julia Urash. On May 14, 1952, he married Shirley Mae Evans and shared 73 years together before her death on October 3, 2025. He proudly served in the US Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his son, Mark (Lucinda) Urash, daughter, Deborah Scott, and grandsons Graeme (Jessica) Urash, Harrison (Caitlin) Urash, Patrick Scott, Timothy Scott, Peter Scott, and many great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Shirley, mother Julia, and sister Bessie. Joe was a masonry contractor for most of his career and his work can be seen all over the Kent County area. He had a reputation for his skilled workmanship building fireplaces, chimneys, sidewalks, patios and foundations. The last ten years of his career were spent working in the maintenance department at Kent General Hospital, now Bayhealth. Joe’s mechanical aptitude and skilled hands enabled him to build, fix or repair everything from car engines to home improvements.
A memorial service will be held at Trader Funeral Home (12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE), on February 6, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Interment will be private.
