83 Years old from Felton, DE went home to be with the Lord November 17, 2023 at Beebe Hospital in Lewis, DE surrounded by his family.
Joe Roy was born in Port Jefferson, NY on March 6, 1940. He moved his family to Delaware in the 1970s. He was a talented artist whose God given talent showed through in his work in the auto body industry. Joe enjoyed golfing, fishing, bird watching, spending time with family and playing Santa at Christmas time. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of Centerpoint Church in Smyrna DE where he sang on the worship team for many years.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother Tony and Betty Roy, a brother Donald Gamewell, and stepson Christopher Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sheila Roy of Felton, DE. Brother Roy Davis and his wife Jeanne of Lake Worth, FL, Daughter and Son-in-law Jackie and Nick Mogle of Felton, DE. Son Patrick Roy and his wife Laura of Hebron, MD. Step son and daughter in law Robert Michael (Mike) and Charlene Martin of Oxford, PA. Step daughter Carolyn Wallace of Sumter, SC.
Granddaughters Nikki Wallace of Rockville MD. Ashley Mogle and her significant other Andrew Voshell of Chester, MD. Kimmie and Mandy Mogle of Felton, DE. Sarah and Megan Roy of Maryland.
Grandsons Robert Michael Martin III (Bobby) and Nicholas Martin both of Pennsylvania, and his faithful canine companion Julie.
A Celebration of life will be held Sat. Dec. 2 at Woodside United Methodist Church 1407 Main Street Woodside, DE 19980. The service will start at 12:00 and friends may call an hour earlier. Refreshments will follow the service.
A private graveside service will be held at Barrett’s Chapel Cemetery for immediate family at 3 PM.
