Debbie, I am so sad to learn of Jesse’s death. We haven’t seen each other in many years, but we always pick up where we left off. I remember your wedding and am happy you had many years together and were blessed with your boys. Please accept my deepest sympathies for your family and “Mr. & Mrs.” Porter. I still remember the day my little brother was born. Daddy rode me all over Dover on a rainy day to deliver cigars to friends. Quite frankly, I was a little perturbed at the fuss over a baby boy but eventually he grew on me. With almost eight years between us, we had more of a sister/mom to brother/son relationship.
I remember when I was home from college, answering the phone from Jay's 7th grade teacher enquiring about a cake he had promised for a fundraiser. So, on a Saturday morning, I hurried to produce said cake. We made it just in time for the cakewalk.
That is just one example of things between us. He wrote me letters when I was at college (writing anything was not a favorite of his.) He got his first Harley at 17. He talked our mother on a ride with him only one time in both of their lives.
He loved our parents, wife Debbie and his boys, Eric and Kyle fiercely. He had an ornery smile all his life. And he loved his cats.
He will be missed. I imagine there is quite a reunion up in heaven with our parents, bother-in-law David and all the family pets.
