Jane Chike's Obituary
Jane Chike, peacefully passed from this world on Wednesday December 14, 2016 at Bay Health Hospital in Dover, DE. Jane was born in Dover on December 17, 1941, a daughter of the late Elve W. & Ruth E. Knowles. Also, proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Paul T. (Buddy) Chike.
Although a homemaker throughout most of her life, Jane also worked with Metro Food Market until the Dover store closed.
Jane loved sports, she loved her Phillies & Eagles. She was an avid bowler. She spent many summers on her boat “The Tommy Darlen" as a member of the Indian River Boating Association. During the ‘70s, Jane was an active member of the Dover High School football boosters and continued to bleed blue & white well after her children graduated.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Darlene Boyd (CA) of New Bern, NC; son Paul (Tommy) Chike, Jr. of Dover, DE; two granddaughters, Courtney L. Voshell (Chris) of Dover, DE; Caitlyn E. Walpole of Abingdon, MD; two great-grandchildren, Greyson and Amelia Voshell; son in law, Mark G. Walpole, Jr. of Dover, DE, sister, Linda J. Holloway of Seaford, DE and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at 2:00pm at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, DE 19901, where friends may join the family at 1:00pm. Interment will follow services at Barratt’s Chapel Cemetery, 641 Bay Rd. Frederica. Arrangements by Trader Funeral Home. Letters of condolences may be sent to www.traderfh.com
