Obituary for James W. Turner JR.
James W. Turner Jr. of Magnolia DE, was called home Saturday November 25, 2017 where he is sitting on the waters edge of the most beautiful river, fishing for the biggest bass or trout. He was known as Jimmy to his family and friends and loved to hunt and fish. He spend a large part of his life living in Hartly and was a volunteer firefighter for many years at the Hartly Fire House prior to moving to Magnolia. Jimmy was a Vietnam veteran and was awarded the National Defence Service Medal and was a Marksman and Sharpshooter for the United States Army. He is proceeded in death by parents Doris Emory and James Turner Sr. His memory lives on in his daughter Christine and son in law Jeff Oldham of Hartly, son and daughter in law George T. Turner and Heather Coulter of Felton, his grandchildren Ethan and Riley Oldham, Eden, Ava, Leilah and George Turner Jr. His sisters Betty Cole, Vicky Travis, Mary Cole, and brother Jay Johnson and their families.
Services for Jimmy will be located at Trader Funeral Home located at 12 Lotus St. Dover, DE on Monday, December 11, 2017. Family and friends may come by between the hours of 11:00am to 12:00pm to pay their respect, following will be a short service located in Bear DE, at the Veterans Memorial Cemetary at 1:00pm.
Family and friends will then be invited to come together for a small luncheon generously provided by and located at the Hartly Fire House.
