James Ray Britton Sr.'s Obituary
James Ray Britton Sr., “JR”, died unexpectedly on Wednesday December 11, 2024, in Dover, Delaware, he was 45. James is survived by his mother Jayne (Stanton) Davis and stepfather Kevin Davis; his partner, Darla Wischmann; children Jimmy, Devin, Del, Makayla, and Corey; his step brother Mike Martin, step sister Karina Happel and brother Devin Smith; as well as his ball python Lou Lou.
He is preceded In death by his father, Charles Britton; his maternal grandparents, James and Bertha Stanton; his paternal grandmother Doris Britton, and younger brother Carl Britton.
James was born on August 2, 1979, in Paoli, PA, to Charles Britton and Jayne Davis. He graduated from Buena High School in Sierra Vista, AZ. In 1999. He was a devoted father and loving boyfriend. He was passionate about Martial Arts and even became a martial arts instructor in Maryland, teaching not only his own children, but many others as well. He loved to cook for people and seemed to get the most pleasure from how much they enjoyed the food he prepared for them. He enjoyed playing his XBOX and gaming with his girlfriend, kids, and friends. In 2023 he was baptized at Trinity Wesleyan Church and accepted Jesus into his life.
James was a hard worker and always did his best to provide for his family. He was DOD police for 19 years, later holding jobs at Bay Area Tire in Maryland; Jiffy Lube in Dover, Delaware; Dunbar Guard Services in Maryland; Harrington Casino in Harrington, Delaware as a surveillance operator; a Correctional Officer in Arizona, and most recently he held the position of Security Manager at Bally’s Casino in Dover, Delaware.
There will be a private viewing for immediate family Saturday the 21st from 1:00-1:30 after 1:30 the viewing will be open to extended family and friends and will conclude at 2:30 at Trinity Wesleyan Church 1564 South State Street, Dover, Delaware 19901.
