Hilda E Scott's Obituary
Hilda E. Scott of Camden DE passed away peacefully on December 30, 2020. She has gone to join her husband Stephen E. Scott, who passed away in 2014. She was born in Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk, England in 1935, daughter of the late Cyril E. and Isabel D. Loose. She is survived by her son Kevin Scott of Camden Delaware, her daughter Sharon Lynn of Marco Island Florida, and six grandchildren, as well as her five siblings and many nieces and nephews. She married Stephen in 1956 while he was stationed in England as a pilot in the United States Air Force. Their adventures took them around the globe, with Hilda making homes in Germany and the Philippines and supporting Stephen as his missions took him to Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Antarctica, and Greenland. They chose Dover as their home in 1968 when Stephen was stationed at DAFB and preparing to retire. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and member of the community. She was an active congregant of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for many years. Her many quiet acts of kindness enriched the lives of both neighbors and strangers. Her neighbors will remember her for her thoughtfulness and for the beautiful gardens she cultivated over the decades. She loved to walk and exercise, and was a familiar face at the YMCA. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers please donate to the Seeing Eye in Hilda’s memory, at www.seeingeye.org.
