Helen T McFadden's Obituary
Helen T. McFadden, of Smyrna Delaware, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2017. She was preceded in death by her son Calvin Smith. She is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie Smith, Mary Ellen Masten, and Brenda Lee McFadden, and her grandchildren and great-children.
Helen was a kind, gentle soul with a big heart and a generous spirit. Through all the days of her long life, she was completely devoted to her family and always willing to help a friend.
Helen, a lifelong resident of the state of Delaware, was born into humble beginnings, but for her it was never possessions or material things that were important—it was always people that mattered most. She always had a smile or kind word for those closest to her and for those she met along the way as well. Helen cared only that her loved ones were happy and healthy and that she would see them again soon.
In addition to being a beloved mother and grandmother and dear friend, Helen was an independent woman—she was a hard worker and a caregiver. She worked for many years as a sewing machine operator at General Clothing and was a proud member of the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union. She also spent many years as a daycare provider to infants and young children, all of whom she loved as if they were her own.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday October 20, 2017 from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. followed immediately by a service at Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover Delaware.
