Helen Dankewich Glanden's Obituary
Helen Dankewich Glanden passed away on Aug. 9, 2013 at Kent General Hospital in Dover, DE at the age of 84. Helen graduated from Caesar Rodney High School and was married to Kenneth Glanden for 61 years. Helen and Kenneth raised their two children in Magnolia, DE where Helen worked in the cafeterias of Magnolia Elementary School and Star Hill Elementary School. She and Kenneth were involved in many activities with the Magnolia Fire Company and they enjoyed going on family camping trips. Helen was a good cook and her favorite hobby was working on all types of craft projects. She enjoyed her large and diverse collection of dolls and displayed them proudly. Helen's husband passed away in 2008. She is survived by her daughter Linda Hughes and her husband Kevin, her son Kenneth Victor Glanden and his wife Robin, her grandchildren George Pardee, Stacy Norland and her husband Mike, Kristy Wayson and her husband Ryan, her great-grandchildren Ethan and Zachary Wayson, Rebecca and Jeffrey Norland and Elizabeth Rubalcaba, her brother Victor Dankewich and sister Vivian Grubb. Helen had been a resident of Silver Lake Center in Dover for the past few years where she enjoyed socializing with her friends there and was always busy working on her many craft projects. Helen had a great sense of humor and was always ready to share a laugh and some candy from her endless stash of sweets treats. She will be greatly missed by the many family members and friends who loved her. A gathering of family and friends celebrating Helen's life will be held Wed. Aug. 14, 2013 at Trader Funeral Home 12 Lotus Street Dover, DE from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company.
