Hazel “Dot” Wright Reynolds Jasper
Hazel Marie Wright Reynolds Jasper went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in South Pasadena, Florida. She was born January 12, 1922 on her parent’s farm in Magnolia, Delaware. She attended Magnolia School, and graduated from Caesar Rodney High School in Dover in 1939.
In 1942 she married Robert Roland Reynolds, son of Fred and Orna of Milford. They settled in Kingsville, MD, where they remodeled a run-down house with loving craftsmanship while living in it, and enjoyed Rockhounding together. Hazel also enjoyed free-lance Writing, playing Piano, and Stamp Collecting, spending time at the beach, and was very involved in Christian fellowship groups.
Hazel devoted much of her time to genealogical and historical research, and was accepted into the Colonial Dames of America. In 1978 she published a hardcover anecdotal history of her hometown, entitled Flower of Caroon Manor. Copies can be obtained by writing to LLEEE, 716 DeKalb Pike #144, Blue Bell, PA 19422.
Hazel retired to Pinellas County, Florida where she spent time with friends, traveling, using her computer, reading, and attending church, Bible Studies, and a weekly hymn sing which she established.
Hazel was preceded in death by stillborn sister, Bettie Ellen, parents Homer and Bessie (Short) Wright, husband Robert R. Reynolds, and husband William E. Jasper.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Laura June Reynolds Reisz and husband Leslie, two grandsons Eric and Eliot Reisz, and one granddaughter Emily Reisz, all of Norristown, PA, and cousins William and Rodney Bullock and their families, Barbara McCormick, and Charlotte Holloway, all of Delaware.
Services will be held Monday, August 28 at 1:00pm at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 39 N. Main Street, Magnolia, DE 19962 (302) 335-3304
A viewing will be begin at 12:00pm at the church.
Graveside service will follow at White’s Chapel Cemetery, Route 1 Overbrook, Milton, DE 19968 (302) 645-6252

Hazel Jasper, born January 12, 1922 in Magnolia, Delaware, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 in South Pasadena, Florida. She formerly attended Northwest Presbyterian Church where she met many dear friends. She resided at The Fountains of Boca Ciega Bay community, where she was devoted to The Fountains Chapel church, Bible studies, and a weekly Hymn Sing which she established. She is the author of the book, Flower of Caroon Manor, an anecdotal history of her home town.
Services will be held Monday, August 28 at 1:00pm in Magnolia, DE, and interment will be at White’s Chapel Cemetery, Milton, DE.
