Harry E. Marvel Sr. of Little Creek, DE passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday, April 5th, 2017. He was 83 years young. Harry was born November 8th, 1933 in Little Creek, DE to Benjamin and Katherine Marvel. He retired from the City of Dover after 30 years of work. Harry was a lifetime member of the Little Creek Volunteer Fire Company, F.O.P Lodge 3, American Legion Fox Post 2 and served as Mayor of Little Creek for over 20 years. He enjoyed bowling, crabbing, clamming, poker, horse races, and playing canasta on Sundays with his family. Harry is survived by his wife of 61 years Leora Drake Marvel; brother Raymond Marvel and his wife Betty, sister in-law Nadejda Marvel; son Harry E. Marvel Jr. and his wife Barbie Marvel, son Wayne Marvel, daughter Teresa Carrow and her husband Carl; daughter in-laws Pamela Marvel, Edwina Sherman, and Donna Marvel Hayden; Grandchildren Melissa Hill and her husband Robert Hill, Steven Marvel, Heather Marker and her husband Joseph Marker, Melinda Carrow and her fiancé Thomas Farra, Mary Morales and her husband Ariel Morales, Olivia Opdyke, Jacob Marvel and Adam Marvel; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; his loving dog Peanut.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Benjamin and Katherine; brothers James, William, and Benjamin Marvel; sisters Bettie McRobie and Pearl Hurley; sister in-laws Ruth and Pat Marvel; sons Bruce and Richard Marvel.
