Harold N. Bailey's Obituary
Harold N. Bailey, 90, Camden, passed away peacefully on Friday May 16, 2014 at his daughter home, Penney Broomell.
He was born on September 09, 1923 in Wilmington, DE to the late Neil Cottean Bailey and Mildred Bailey. He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Alice Killen Bailey and second wife of 8 years Marguerite Seacord Bailey.
He is survived by three children, Sandra Newcomer of Smithsburg, MD, Penny Broomell of Camden, DE, Hal Bailey of St. Petersburg, FL, six grandchildren, Scott Newcomer of Jupiter, FL, Amy Barnhart of Smithsburg, MD, Ellis and Lizzy Bailey of Tampa, FL, Kristen Landry of Camden, DE, and Amber Payne of Camden, DE, six great-grandchildren, Cal and Keooy Newcomer, Bryan Cottrill and Adam Barnhart, Mason Payne and Trey Landry.
Harold served in the Army as a paratrooper during WWII. He retired from Diamond State Telephone Co. after 31 years of service. Many people will remember him as "Beetle Bailey" or as "the telephone man". He enjoyed dancing, traveling, fishing, bowling, gardening and his favorite baseball team the Phillies.
The family will greet visitors on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Whatcoat United Methodist Church Camden, Delaware, from 1 to 2 p.m. A service will follow at 2:15 p.m.
