Guilma Jaramillo Yearsley's Obituary
GUILMA JARAMILLO YEARSLEY, 88
Magnolia – Guilma Jaramillo Yearsley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 11, 2017. She was born in Colon, Republic of Panama on April 24, 1929, to the late Antonio and Ruby Williams Jaramillo.
As a young girl, she lived and attended school in the City of Colon and Panama City. A few years later she became engaged to an American Army Soldier and moved to the United States in 1957 to marry. During his more than 20 years in the military they lived in Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Florida and eventually settling in Delaware after his retirement. Guilma became a US Citizen in 1967. She was a stay at home mom to four children. She loved dancing and many types of music. She loved to bake cakes, especially pineapple upside down cakes. She enjoyed having Avon and Tupperware parties, watching game shows and comedies. After her children were grown she worked at Roses Department Store in the Blue Hen Mall as a Merchandise Checker. She also was a past member of the Camden Moose Lodge and enjoyed volunteering and attending events at the American Legion Post in Dover. Later in life she became a member of the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.
Guilma was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Henry James Yearsley, Sr.; parents Antonio and Ruby; brother Luis Antonio Jaramillo; sister Floria Maria Jaramillo.
She is survived by her children, Cynthia Antal (Jeff) of Marydel, Nancy Wommack of Magnolia, Henry, Jr. of Dover and Mary Wise (Charles) of Harrington; 10 grandchildren, Justin and Caitlin Antal of Marydel, Hope Wommack of Madison, Ga., Tina Yearsley of Magnolia, Roseanna Yearsley of Hartly, Matthew Yearsley of Middletown, Tabbatha Wittman (James of Magnolia and Devin Yearsley of Magnolia, Allan Sthweitzer (Alyssa) of Magnolia, Francis Ulmer of Sandtown. and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sisters Elvia de Maestre, Aurora Jaramillo de Henriquez and Laura Esther de Bario all of Panama. She had a special place in her heart for her God Son Rogelio Antonio Davino. She is also survived by several Nieces and Nephews.
The family would like to extend our gratitude to the many caregivers she had for the past year.
The viewing will take place on Thursday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral service will follow the viewing in the chapel of Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus Street, Dover, De. Interment will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover in the Garden of Honor. There will be a fellowship at the Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Main Street, Magnolia.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company, Main Street, Magnolia, De. 19962 or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of Delaware, Attn: Jamie Magee, 108 North Bedford Street, Georgetown, De 19947.
